Mardi Gras is not just a one-day event in New Orleans; there are weeks of build-up to the final celebration. The day before this cruise departs is one of the biggest parade days of Mardi Gras season. Experience parades from early afternoon until evening in Uptown New Orleans and catch loads of beads to wear on your cruise.
On Sunday, February 4, leave the Big Easy behind for a weeklong cruise in the Caribbean. In Cozumel, you may choose to enjoy a hands-on experience and learn to make salsas. Then, participate in an exciting and fun salsa dance lesson. Take an optional catamaran sail in Roatan, Honduras. Bask in the sun at Harvest Caye, Norwegian's premier resort-style destination in Belize. In Costa Maya, explore on your own. Join the group at a local restaurant and beach bar, or choose your own excursion, possibly to the Mayan ruins of Tulum.
Mardi Gras 2024 is just two days after our return from the cruise. You may choose to fly home anytime from Sunday afternoon through Wednesday, the day after Mardi Gras, to take part in the festivities as your time and budget allow.
We will help guide your flight and transfers selections to make sure that your visit to New Orleans makes the best use of your time and vacation budget. We'll be happy to help you secure hotel rooms before and after the cruise, and we'll make recommendations for restaurants. Hang with us as a group, or explore on your own. In either way, Sharon and Bruce will be there to make suggestions based on several trips already made to New Orleans.
